The Enterprise Tester Data folder does not need to remain with t= he ET installation files. Everything in the Data Folder can be moved.<= /p>
If you are planning to move your data folder, there are a few configurat= ion settings that you will need to update to ensure that ET can access the = files in your data folder:
All of these configuration changes need to be made to the web.config fil= e. Before moving your data folder and making these configuration chan= ges we strongly recommend that you back up your web.config file and your da= ta folder.
To make these updates, open your web.config file which can typically be = found here on your ET server ( this maybe different if you specified a diff= erent path during installation): C:\Program Files (x86)\Catch Limited\= Enterprise Tester\Web\Web.config.
Find the section "<appSettings>" and add the following entries, su= bstituting the value for the new location of the data folder ( see the appSettings topic for more information)= :
<add key=3D"attachment.storage.path" value=3D"E:\new\path\of\data\a= ttachments\" />
<add key=3D"search.indexes.path" value=3D"E:\new\path\of\data\Index= es\" />
<add key=3D"project.templates.path" value=3D"E:\new\path\of\Project= Templates\" />
Next, update the connection string in the web.config file to speci= fy the new location of the database. Find the <connectionStrings>= ; section.
Your connection string may look something like this:
<connectionStrings> <add name=3D"Default" connectionString=3D"Data Source=3D.\SQLExpress= ;Initial Catalog=3DEnterpriseTester;MultipleActiveResultSets=3Dtrue;Trusted= _Connection=3DYes" />
Note that user-attached instances of SQL Server Express are not supporte= d for production environments.
